Boundary Treatment: Stone wall with coping measuring about 1m in height. The wall is collapsed in several places.
Natural Heritage Details: Mature conifers, beech and horse chestnut trees throughout graveyard; semi-natural grassland; partially overgrown with brambles; lichen and moss on walls and headstones; ivy covers a lot of the floor of the burial ground and large parts of the boundary walls.
Description: The graveyard is located within the private grounds of Kilkea Demesne (Golf course and hotel. There are the remains of three churches within the boundary of the graveyard which is bounded by a low stone wall. The headstones date from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Headstone types are upstanding, recumbent, table tombs, metal crosses, and Celtic cross design.
Appraisal: The site is of considerable archaeological, architectural and historic interest, attesting to the long-standing ecclesiastical presence in the area. The structural remains consist of the lower courses of walls, a nave with opposed entrances and a chancel. Other features of note are two chapels: The Fitzgerald mortuary chapel and a Lady Chapel and a baptismal font. The boundary wall is of uncoursed limestone. The graveyard contains various cut-stone grave markers from the 18th-20th centuries, which are of artistic interest
