Description: The graveyard is located in the original demesne of Hortland House in a crop field. The site is marked on the OS map of 1837. The majority of the headstones are upstanding with several leaning and broken. The graveyard is located on a mound with a ditch on the inside in the SW quadrant. The ground is very uneven underfoot, possibly indicating further burials or grave markers underneath. There is a gate into the graveyard and a concrete path that runs for about 11m. The site is neglected with the result that some of the headstones are being impacted by the heavy growth.
Appraisal: The site is of archaeological and historic interest. The graveyard is enclosed by a fosse and bank (modern). No visible trace of the church survives. The graveyard contains various cut-stone grave markers from the 18th-20th centuries, which are of artistic and historic interest.
