Description: K165 is located in the middle of a cornfield accessed via a field gate from a local road. The cross which marks the burial ground is marked on both the 1st edition OS 6" map and the 1897-1913 OS 25" map. The site can only be reach by a cross country walk of approximately 5 minutes. There is no associated boundary, path or structure. The RMP location is a small grass grown area in the centre of the field with an upstanding granite Celtic Cross in the middle. Local knowledge indicates that this is a mass grave connected with the 1798 rebellion. The cross, which leans a little to the south, is apparently an original feature. Ploughing in the vicinity of the cross has in the past revealed large quantities of bone.

Appraisal: The site is of archaeological interest. A granite solid wheel cross located in possible burial ground. No trace of grave markers.
