Boundary Treatment: Rough coursed stone wall, 1.5m high approx. Modern buildings are incorporated into the western boundary.
Natural Heritage Details: 1-5 young trees lining boundaries; hedgerows mark the north and west boundaries of an extended burial area; mown grass covers 70% of the site; lichens visible on 70% of gravestones; limited ivy coverage on boundary walls.
Description: The site is located in the town of Milltown at the intersection of the R415 and the R416.The graveyard and associated church are marked on both the 1st edition OS 6" map and the 1897-1913 OS 25" map. The site is accessed via a gate in the middle of the western boundary. The church occupies the centre of the original enclosure, but there is an extension to the burial area toe the north at the east end giving an overall L-shape to the enclosure. The graveyard is well served by paths especially east of the church. Older burials are further west on the north and south sides. The ground surface within the graveyard is very even. Graves date from 19th-21st century. Slabs and table tombs are present in small numbers.
Appraisal: A 19th century graveyard which contains various cut-stone grave markers of marble, limestone and polished granite. The styles are kerbed, obelisk, table, railed and rectangular shaped headstones, which are of some local social, artistic and local historic interest. Features of note are a 19th century church with a small bell cote on the W gable.
